Michael grew up on the family homestead near Sheho, Saskatchewan. The homestead has been in the family since 1903 and currently operates as a grain and purebred cattle operation.  Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a major in Marketing, from the University of Saskatchewan.

Prior to his joining EMD in 2006, Michael had spent the previous 8 years working in various areas of the seed industry. As the Canadian Sales Manager, Michael is responsible for EMD Crop BioScience sales in Canada & his territory includes the North Eastern Prairies.
