For Immediate Release

MILWAUKEE, WI: EMD Crop BioScience Inc. continues to demonstrate it’s commitment to Canadian agriculture with the addition of a sales representative in Western Canada.

Corby Sylvester joins the EMD Western Canadian sales team in this new position as EMD’s sales representative for Manitoba and South East Saskatchewan. Majoring in Agronomy and Horticulture, Corby received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota and is currently certified with the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists. His work experience includes time spent with Zeneca Seeds, Bayer CropScience, and Novartis Animal Health. Corby resides in Carman, Manitoba.

The Southern Prairies territory, which includes South West Saskatchewan as well as Southern Alberta, is represented by Jeff Bennett. Jeff joined EMD Crop BioScience in August and currently resides in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He attained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Agricultural Business from the University of Saskatchewan. Jeff recently worked with Bayer CropScience and is a current member of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.

Darrell Flatla was added to the Canadian sales force in October. He is responsible for the Western Prairies which includes Central and Northern Alberta. Darrell received his Agriculture diploma from Olds College and brings with him over sixteen years of expertise to EMD. Darrell previously owned and operated an independent agriculture dealership in Alberta and most recently worked for Cargill as a Farm Marketing Representative.

In addition to EMD’s new hires, Chris Meier is the veteran Canadian sales team member. Chris’ territory covers Eastern Canada and is focused on servicing Ontario and Quebec. Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph and has over twenty years industry experience with seed and inoculant companies.

As the Canadian Sales Manager, Michael Kereluik is responsible for managing the sales team and sales activities. Michael obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and has worked in the industry for ten years; the last two being with EMD. In addition to the Sales Manager role, Michael also assumes territory responsibilities for Central Saskatchewan.

"The addition of Darrell, Jeff, and Corby not only reiterates EMD's commitment to supplying Canadian growers, retailers, and distributors with leading products and services but also paves the road for the introduction of new technologies. EMD has been leading the way with crop enhancement technologies, such as Optimize®, currently marketed in the US. These are exciting times for EMD in Canada. With the introduction of new people and new products, we plan to bring considerable value to the Canadian producer. The high level of enthusiasm, expertise, and professionalism that our people offer is a positive indication of things to come from EMD," states Canadian Sales Manager, Michael Kereluik.
